Getting out of the rain
Changing paths
When Dr. Marquez attended Fairleigh Dickinson College, she majored in biology with the intent of becoming a biomedical engineer. A chance run-in with a chiropractic office, however, would change her path for life.
- New Jersey. At Fairleigh Dickinson College she majored in biology, planning to become a biomedical engineer.
- A rainy day. She stopped into a chiropractic office to get out of the rain, and walked out with a new job.
- Life University, Georgia. Doctor of Chiropractic, March 1993.
- Telluride, Colorado. Her first practice, in the mountains.
- Bernalillo, New Mexico. She grew up on the East Coast but visited the Bernalillo area often as a child. Fate and family brought her back to open Inline Chiropractic.
Though she had seen a chiropractor earlier in life after a fall, she hadn’t been educated about the philosophy or what chiropractic did. Dr. Marquez stopped in to get out of the rain and walked out with a new job. Working with a chiropractor made a tremendous impression on her.
Everyone looked forward to coming into the office and feeling better. The engagement between the chiropractor and the patient was so unlike that of a traditional medical doctor.

Staying involved in our community
Walking the walk
When it comes to health, Dr. Marquez believes that if you want to talk the talk, you have to walk the walk. She loves going to the gym, hiking, and doing yoga.
When she isn’t being active or seeing patients, she can be found curled up with a good book or being involved with our community. She volunteers at the community center, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Habitat for Humanity, and goes to church every Sunday.
